Callen Design Group Process
The path from imagining what your remodeled home would be to clipping ideas from magazines and jotting notes from TV shows to product research online and at home shows and showrooms should be a fun and educational process. Creating the finished space that you desire is dependent on following a tested and proven process.
Developing a "wish list" and an investment range are important first steps. As the process progresses, you will get to know several of our staff members, as all Callen projects are completed by a team of experienced professionals.
Throughout the design and construction process, we cultivate an environment where questions should be asked and ideas shared. The Callen Design Group Process enables you to have the living space you want in a way you can trust.

What do you have now? Where do you want to be? We have found a better way to help people find answers. That's because we listen to what you want and what you need. What you need to enjoy your life not just when everything is done, but during the process of getting there. We make it easier. We care about you and your home throughout the entire process.
You will be able to see, touch, and feel the wide array of products in the showroom, get the Callen company story, a comparison of the materials available for your project, and a full explanation of the Callen Design Group Process. Initial discussions of your ideas, vision, and budget for the new space will take place. You will leave with our "Dreams Folder" packed with information about your project.
An in-depth interview of your family activities, lifestyles, and the likes and dislikes of your existing space will continue. Photos are taken of the existing space, electrical box, floor system, and plumbing systems. Comprehensive measurements of the existing space and adjoining rooms are taken. Conceptual design ideas along with a budget analysis for the project will be discussed.
The next step is for the designer to take all the information collected to-date and come up with a design plan and project documents. At this time, we will ask for a moderate retainer to prepare plans and recommendations for the proposed modifications, based on your design preferences and functional requirements.
Our services include space planning, cabinets, lighting, built-ins, colors, materials and finishes, and furniture placement. Upon an agreement to purchase, the entire retainer amount will be applied to your down payment. Prior to the Design Presentation, and based on the scope of the project, additional appointments may need to be made with trade personnel to visit the home to address specific issues pertinent to the final design.
Based on the information gathered in prior meetings, the designer will have detailed floor plans and elevations of the new space, will review your selections, discuss how our Project Management Service helps your project run smoothly, and will provide a complete project proposal. If all necessary selections are not complete, a budget for items not selected will be included in the project proposal.
