As I write this, we are in the midst of my favorite season – fall. I’m not a fan of the season that follows, but I enjoy the transition and the change of seasons that Wisconsinites love so much. We’ve had a few chilly nights, as the furnace has been turned on and fireplaces have been lit.
Since the end of last winter, many of you probably forgot about that drafty front door or that troublesome window. These cold nights remind us about those problematic spots in our house.
I’ve been told by contractors on my remodeling show that no house is perfect, that every house has something that needs attention. To ease the stress, focus on the priorities in your house.
Start with the worst window or the door with the draft. Obviously budget dictates what can be done and you don’t have to do everything at once. Callen has helped me so many times over the years on both of our homes, deciding what needs attention the most, addressing it, and moving on to the next project when able.
So, don’t stress over it. Have Callen out to your house, take a look at the most troublesome areas in your home, and address it. Your house is one investment that you can’t “set it and forget it” as financial experts would tell you about your retirement plan. It requires constant upkeep and maintenance. If done properly, your home will increase in value and keep you warm on these chilly nights.
Fix drafty windows and doors with Callen Construction so you can enjoy fall. Heck, you can even enjoy winter, where you’ll be warm and toasty inside!
