Becoming a GAF Master Elite Contractor is no small feat. In fact, it’s very hard to do, which is why only about two percent of roofing contractors nationwide receive this certification! Before achieving Master Elite status, a company must first meet the following requirements:
- Be in business a minimum of seven years, including one year in GAF’s Certified program.
- Achieve a 99% client satisfaction rating, verified by an independent GAF survey.
- Hold $1 million in general liability coverage, as well as have valid workers’ compensation insurance.
- Have a clean banking record that shows no overdrafts or other negative information.
- Have a good workmanship record.
- Have a satisfactory rating with the BBB.
- Have a good or better credit rating.
- Have a clean distributor reference, which proves that bills are paid on time.
- Have no outstanding judgments or liens on record.
Once a contractor has met the preceding qualifications, they must then meet face-to-face with a GAF territory manager, who will personally verify all the information, review previous projects, and follow up with references.
