Phil Callen, along with his brother Tom, founded Callen Construction in 1986. Started as a family-owned exterior home improvement company, the company quickly expanded into an award-winning home improvement and interior remodeling firm with locations in both Muskego and Brookfield. Phil is proud of the many long-term relationships that have been fostered with remodeling customers. Michael Wood, CR, VP/Sales Manager/Owner
Michael Wood started with Callen Construction in 2002 in sales, was promoted to Sales Manager in 2005, and became the company’s Vice President in 2013. Mike is responsible for creating many of Callen Construction’s programs, processes, and procedures, ensuring they give the best possible customer experience. As Sales Manager, his job is to train the sales staff so that you receive a consistent, thorough, and honest assessment of your home’s needs and, as a customer, have an advocate throughout your entire home improvement or remodeling project.
Mike is a National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) Certified Remodeler (CR). NARI Certified Professionals commit to comprehensive review and testing in areas of business methods and practices, ethical conduct, building codes and construction law, planning and building site layout, and all trade skills required in remodeling. Mike has committed to professional conduct and participated in intensive studies on a broad range of critical industry issues.
Brad Flannigan – Retired June 2018
Brad has spent over 30 years in the construction industry with Callen Construction. As a sales representative, Brad is dedicated to keeping current with knowledge and trends in the construction industry and utilizes his vast experience to provide his customers with the best products, services, and solutions. His experience and certifications include Certified Window Installer; GAF Master Elite Certified Roofing Expert; Vinyl Siding Institute graduate; Gutter Topper Leaf Protection System Authority; and an Infinity from Marvin Specialist. He also is a specialist in green technology and providing homeowners energy-efficient ways to update their homes. Brad had been on the exterior products sales team at Callen Construction since 1988.
Christopher Wittman, CR, Senior Sales Rep. – Exterior Products
Christopher is responsible for the direct sales of all of Callen Construction’s exterior home remodeling products, services, and solutions for many residential homeowners. He has worked for Callen Construction since 2006, specializing in roofing, siding, windows, doors, decks, porches and Home Energy Performance. Christopher is a National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI) Certified Remodeler (CR). To achieve certification, he underwent comprehensive review and testing in areas of business methods and practices, ethical conduct, building codes and construction law, planning and building site layout, and all trade skills required in remodeling.
Christopher regularly appears on WISN-AM 1130’s “The Remodeling Show” and also “The Milwaukee NARI Home Improvement Show” on Sports Radio AM 1250 WSSP. He also makes appearances on local television media regarding home remodeling solutions and contributes articles related to the remodeling industry to local print media.
Bob has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry and is an expert in advising customers on diversified exterior projects. He is certified in Mill Run solid core siding and GAF Steep Slope Roofing. He has also completed Infinity Fiberglass Replacement Window sales training conducted by Marvin representatives.
Bob enjoys working one-on-one with his customers, consulting on their project needs and helping them realize their dreams. He has been a Callen Construction employee since 2007.
Lance Dahl, CR, Senior Sales Rep. – Exterior Products
Lance Dahl began his career in the remodeling industry 20 years ago as a commercial window glazier. He also operated his own window and door installation business for several years. In his current role, Lance conducts in-home sales of exterior home improvement products. He earned his Installation Masters Certification for window and door installation, is certified by the Vinyl Siding Institute, and is Lead Safe Certified in Wisconsin. Lance has also completed Infinity Fiberglass Replacement Window sales training conducted by Marvin representatives.

Kevin Hooker, who was born and raised in Adrian, Michigan, joined Callen Construction in February 2018 as an Exterior Products Sales Specialist.
At Callen, he will work with clients on a variety of exterior needs, including windows, doors, roofing, siding, and gutters, helping homeowners find the products that best meet their needs. Kevin recently completed training at Infinity University, where he learned about the array of products offered through Infinity from Marvin Fiberglass Replacement Windows.
A resident of the Colgate, Kevin has an adult son that resides in Adrian. He is a sports nut, especially Big Ten Conference sports. Kevin, who enjoys playing, coaching, and officiating volleyball, is also a supporter of American Cancer Society Relay for Life events and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
Kevin and his husband Scott have two dogs, a Jack Russell named Jaki and Sherman, a Rat Terrier.
Dan Bast, who joined Callen in March of 2015 as an exterior sales representative, is a native of Two Rivers, Wisconsin who currently resides in Oconomowoc.
With more than 20 years experience in the home improvement and remodeling industry specializing in windows, siding, and doors, Dan sees his responsibility when working with a homeowner as assisting with all their exterior home remodeling needs. This includes establishing budgets, product selection, design, and follow through.
His work history includes participating in a large Federal Government project for residents surrounding Mitchel International Airport. Dan assisted hundreds of homeowners with selecting specific noise reducing products for their homes to help alleviate sounds from low flying aircraft.
Away from Callen, Dan is busy with two kids and a full-time working wife. “Between scouting with my son and my daughter’s active school life, I participate in the local Masonic Lodge and Shriners International,” Dan said. “As a family, we like to travel and enjoy many recreational and cultural activities.”
Joe Schneidler, a native of Brown Deer, joined Callen in August 2018 as an Exterior Product Sales Specialist.
The New Berlin resident, has 15 years’ experience in the home improvement industry. At Callen, Joe will help customers with their home improvement needs by listening and providing them with the best products and services to fit their needs. “I enjoy the opportunity to meet with customers at their home, demonstrate products, take measurements, and provide them with what I believe are the best options for their project,” he said.
As member of the NRA, outside of the office he enjoys teaching others firearm safety, as well as spending time at the shooting range. Joe is also a member of (HOG), the Harley Davidson Owner’s Group, and he enjoys riding his Harley to different areas of the state.
With an adult daughter and son, he and his wife Kristin also have two sons ages 8 and 5, so Joe enjoys spending time with the family. They have land at a campground in Watertown and they take the kids camping and swimming, plus they have a cottage on Lake Winnebago and enjoy weekends in the outdoors. He is also a huge Packers fan!
Paulette Sodemann, Senior Designer
With an associate’s degree in interior design, Paulette has been creating beautiful interior spaces for the past decade. Her studies have included building construction, kitchen & bathroom planning, interior lighting and color theory. She has taken numerous courses from the NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association, including residential Green, Advanced Kitchen & Bath Design, Designing with Color, and kitchen & bath ventilation.) She is also qualified to do commercial design and is a SEN Certified Designer (SENCD). Paulette has been a Callen Construction designer since 2006. Paulette has been the recipient of 6 Wisconsin Remodelers awards.
Marie Vos Owens
A lifelong creative and design enthusiast, Marie is a SEN Certified Designer (SENCD) with more than 20 years of experience in design and construction. Marie joined Callen Construction so she could redirect her focus from running a business to her true passion, which is creating and designing for clients, transforming kitchens, baths, and lower levels into aesthetically pleasing, functional areas. Marie has been the recipient of 4 Wisconsin Remodelers awards.
Jeff offers more than 30 years of experience in project design and sales. Specializing in full-house remodels, additions, lower levels, kitchens and bathrooms, Jeff has designed several projects that have earned gold and silver awards in the annual Milwaukee/NARI Wisconsin Remodeler of the Year competition, and one of his lower level designs was featured on HGTV’S “Bang for Your Buck.”
Katie Yttri earned her Associates Degree in Interior Design from Milwaukee Area Technical College in 2009. With more than 8 years of interior design experience, Katie is responsible for assisting Callen Construction clients in the design and selection process. She helps determine the best way to incorporate what the clients need in the available space, with a strong background in tile and flooring products.
Kristen Greene – Designer
Kristen joined Callen Construction in May of 2018. She brings a combined 12 years of experience in remodeling and interior design to Callen. Kristen comes from a construction background, her grandfather owned a concrete business and it was very much a family business as her Dad was the company foreman. Kristen spend much time on jobsites learning the trade in her youth.
As a designer Kristen is responsible for providing full service remodeling solutions to clients by creating functional designs, assisting clients with material selections, and guiding them through Callen’s remodeling process.
When Kristen is not creating WOW spaces for her customers she enjoys baking and flower gardening with her daughter Elsa. She is also a passionate fisherman, she enjoys ice fishing as well as bow fishing.
Heather Brannan – Designer
Heather Brannan joined Callen as a designer in July 2018. She resides in her hometown of South Milwaukee, where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Drafting and Design with an emphasis in Architecture from ITT Tech.
With her lifelong passion for architecture combined with more than six years of remodeling industry experience, Heather truly enjoys transforming homeowner’s dreams into reality. “Based on information collected from the initial consultation in Callen’s Muskego showroom and a following home visit, I will create 3D designs, construction drawings and assist with material selections to bring those dreams to life.” she said. “After the project starts, I visit the project sites and maintain daily communication between project manager and homeowners to insure a smooth and enjoyable remodeling experience.”
In her remodeling career, Heather has won a Wisconsin Remodeler Award and a Contractor of the Year Award at the national level. She has participated as an exhibitor at local home improvement and remodeling shows and has been a guest on the WISN-AM 1130 “Remodeling Show.”
Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with family, playing sports, vacationing, attending concerts and festivals, camping, fishing, gardening and cooking.
Marissa Shaffer – Design Assistant
Marissa Shaffer joined Callen as a Designer in December 2017. The Hartland native, who currently lives in Pewaukee, has worked in the remodeling industry for three years. She earned an Associates Degree in Interior Design from Waukesha County Technical College.
Marissa’s role at Callen is to help create a remodeling design from a client’s vision, making the remodeling process as easy and stress free as possible, while achieving the end result of bringing the dream remodel to life. With a specialization in kitchen and bathroom remodeling, Marissa brings an eye for design to the remodeling process from her previous experience in interior design, decorative product sales, and engineer drawing software.
When she’s not busy planning her January 2018 wedding, Marissa enjoys spending time with family and friends, particularly going to the family cottage for a mini getaway.
Steve Turzinski, Project Manager
Steve Turzinski, who joined Callen Construction in 2000, has served as one of the company’s Project Managers since 2005. In this position, he is responsible for scheduling, product ordering, cost management, and customer relations.
A Certified Lead Safe Renovator, Steve is registered with the State of Wisconsin as a Certified Dwelling Contractor.
In his free time, Steve enjoys traveling with family and participating in a dart league. He also likes working on home remodeling projects with family and friends.
Wade Avinger, Project Manager
Wade Avinger, who moved to Milwaukee at the age of 18, joined Callen Construction as a full time Exterior Product Installer in 2005. Having become an expert in the installation of windows, siding, and roofing, Wade now serves as a Project Manager for our window division.
He attended Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown where he studied business and played on the football team. Through continuing education, Wade has earned several certifications, including being Lead Certified, Installation Masters Certified, and Certified by the State of Wisconsin, plus he is a Certified Pella Contractor.
At Callen Construction, Wade oversees all window and patio door projects, ordering and coordinating installation of the desired products, as well as managing service related to window projects.
When not at Callen Construction, Wade coaches football at Martin Luther High School, plus he is active in his church. He enjoys attending concerts, musicals, and other performances that feature his children, plus golfing and fishing with his family. He also enjoys cooking and smoking meat, especially for family get-togethers.
